I’ve been out of the work loop for a while, so it was good to catch up with everybody at the SLA Europe Winter Warmer quiz last week. AUKML may have disbanded 18 months ago but it lives on as a pub quiz team (like a colliery band in a miners’ strike, as one former member noted).
Competition was hot this year, and Team Gav (current and former Guardianistas and the Telegraph’s librarian) fought a tough battle for top spot. Despite a wobble on TV themes and a dire final round, though, we triumphed by the tightest of margins and regained our title.
It was a really fun night, and I even managed to get my bottle of cava (and my winners’ textbook, Library Mashups (secretly excited)) home in one piece. Roll on next year.
